About Aimée

Artist & Art Psychotherapist

Aimée is a multidisciplinary artist and qualified Art Psychotherapist, working primarily in oil painting, printmaking, and, more recently, illustration. Her work explores the human form, identity, and emotion through both traditional and expressive techniques.

She studied Fine Art at the Liverpool School of Art (John Moores University), where she was awarded a Printmaking Fellowship following the success of her degree show. Since then, she has exhibited her work in several major cities and has experience across the creative industries and educational sector.

Aimée went on to complete a Master’s in Art Psychotherapy at the University of Roehampton and now works across both fields — as an artist and an Art Psychotherapist within forensic, adult, and child mental health services. Aimée is also a qualified Sandstory Therapist, Clinical Supervisor and Guest Lecturer.

Artist Statement

“I am fascinated by the human form and often use life drawing as the foundation for my work. Many pieces begin as quick sketches or gestural marks, gradually evolving into detailed or photorealist-style drawings.

My paintings elaborate on these techniques, while printmaking offers a more playful, experimental process — using minimal lines and shapes to explore figures and themes. I’m drawn to patterns within the body and enjoy transforming them into new visual forms.

Since becoming an Art Psychotherapist, my work has also been shaped by a more experiential perspective — concerned not only with what is seen, but also with what is felt. I’m interested in the tension between the internal and external, the physical and psychological.

Illustration, in particular, has given me a new space for self-expression. It allows me to move away from technical habit and into a more honest, instinctive connection between experience and paper.”
